Good morning everyone. Hasn't it been a real winter with all of this snow! I feel like I am living up where I use to in New England or up state New York!! I think it is time for the snow to stop!!! We are starting to dig ourselves out ... and to celebrate spring coming, we'll going to be having a March 17th, St. Patty's Day Event to showcase our upcoming classes. So, put Wednesday, March 17th on your schedule to come out and help us prepare for spring! We'll have cookies and punch and all of our teachers on hand to answer any questions you might have regarding our upcoming classes. And please, if there is a class you would like to for us to offer, let us know and we'll find a teacher to teach it. Oh, did I mention that there will be "specials" — come in and see if have the "Luck of the Irish." I can't promise a rainbow with a pot of gold, but hopefully all will go away happy! We will have extended hours that day for those people that have to work. We will stay open as long as there are people here — so don't miss it!!! Check out our new "Kids Corner" — we have made some adjustments in the front corner that features are kids fabric. It is so much easier to see what we have and plenty of room for our panels. We always have fun things for "kids quilt" and it seems like they are always in demand. New Items in the shop ... * Red Rooster's new collection Horsing Around. A fun kid's panel of kids, dogs and horses. Cute as can be. Just the thing for that little cowpoke of yours. * Moda's newest collection by Holly Taylor, Lakeside Resort. * RJR's Caterwauling. Just the collection for all of those cat lovers out there! * Elizabeth Studio's Parrot Head. Sand, surfboards and water for all of those Jimmy Buffett "Parrot Heads." Would work up well for a beach bag or a vacation pillow case. Because of the weather, we've scheduled a few other classes again for those that couldn't make it. Four Patch Posies, Monday , March 8th, 10:00 am Makeup class. Teacher Cindy White, Fee $25.00. This is a super class and it makes a beautiful quilt. We still have room for a couple of more students. Winding Ways, Friday, February 26th, 10:00 am Teacher Cindy White $25.00 This is a fun class using only two fabrics — and guess what! We can die-cut your pieces so all you have to do is sew. Please come in before the class and spend some time on the die-cut machine to prepare your fabric for the class. It must be done before the class. You will need to cut your fabric into 12 1/2" squares to put on the machine. No pattern is required. Supply list is available Hand Quilting Class, Thursday, March 25th, 12:30. A class that just keeps happening. Let Jan Norris help you to become the hand quilter that you desire to be. Jan has prepared a kit for you so you have a beautiful hand quilted piece when you are finished. (Price- $15.00) Class fee $20.00. Supply list is available. Class is limited to 4 students. Machine Quilting Class, Tuesday, March 16th, 12:30 to 5 pm Bring your own sewing machine and learn some new techniques on machine quilting. All areas of machine quilting will be cover. Pick up your supply list so you can be ready for the class. Teacher Marty Gail. Cost $25.00 Yellow Brick Road, Friday April 2nd or Saturday April 17th, Teacher Sheila Warren. This is our beginning quilt class-you can't mess this up-you will end up with a great quilt. I promise. Come in and learn the basics of quilting and start your creative juices flowing. Fee $25.00. Quilt Therapy — Every Wednesday — fight that cabin fever and come in and sew with us — open studio. Bring your machine or just bring hand work. This is a great time to get help from you fellow quilters. Janome 350 E -Embroidery class — For those who are owners of the 350 E. The class meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:00-February they will be focusing on making lace. Free to those who purchased their machine from NQC — others are welcome for $10.00. If you are interested in buying an embroidery machine, stop by and check out what they are doing. Anita's Christmas Quilt meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 1:00. It is probably not too late if you want to get started on this Christmas quilt. This is either a drop in and check out next month's pattern or bring your machine and sew all afternoon. These quilts are going to be beautiful!! Special Events coming up in your area .... Sewing Smorgasboard, Saturday, March 20th — Sheridan Middle School, Thornville Ohio. Cost $8.00 Lots of classes, vendors, Fabric fair-apron contest. Sounds like fun, for more info call Cindy at 740-743-1602. (or I have info at the shop) Quilters Day Out, Saturday March 27th — The Plains Methodist Church. Registration begins at 9:30. Pre-registration is required, call Cindy at 740-797-4004 or Mary 740-593-7842. Cost is $5.00. Lunch orders will be taken at the door ($3-5.00). Fat Qtr exchange (purple-quilt shop quality), pattern swap, magazine swap, demonstrations, show and tell (limit two each) Would like to have scraps quilts for show and tell. Door prizes and goodie bags for all. Don't miss this event! Think Green! Don't forget to bring in your own bag and you can put your name in to win a $20.00 gift certificate.
