The Nelsonville Quilt Company started in 2003 strictly as a long arm quilting service. In the summer of 2005 owners, Susan and Fred Holmes converted what was a doctor's office into over 3000 feet of retail space for the "Nelsonville Quilt Company."
The turn of the century building features an original tin ceiling and great architectures features. The shop is located within the Historical Square Art District of Nelsonville-which features several art galleries, unique shops, fine dining, Stuart's Opera House and unique lunch spots. Nelsonville is located on the edge of Hocking Hills, Wayne National Forest and is home of the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad, Hocking College and Rocky Boot Outlet Store.
The shop has "everything a quilter needs or wants" and if we don't have it --we will try to get it for you. The shop has over 2000 bolts of fabric-with lines from Hoffman, Moda, Timeless Treasures, P&B, Bernatex and many more. We try to offer our customers a great variety in batiks, orientals, reproductions, bright kids fabrics and much more. We have an extensive collection of books, patterns, notions and Quilter's Dream batting. We offer a variety of classes both for the beginner and the more advanced students. We never hesitate to help customers with any problems they may have either in selection or construction of their quilts. In the summer of 2004 we became a satellite dealer from Westerville Sew n' Save offering our customers the opportunity of Janome sewing machines. We still offer longarm quilting services and always try to have at least 40 bolts of 108" wide fabrics so you can select the most appropriate backing for your quilt. We are also a sales representative for Gammil Longarms quilting machines.
